Badki (Rani Mukerji) and Chutki (Konkona Sen Sharma) are the daughters of Shivshankar Sahay (Anupam Kher) and Sabitri (Jaya Bachchan). They live together on the banks of the Ganga river in Banaras. Life is sweet and fun-filled for the two. The family are relatively poor but try to stay strong. Badki especially is protective of her family and is determined to make sure Chutki completes her education.

As things go from bad to worse, Badki decides to go to Mumbai to help her family. She is exposed to the bustling and ruthless city atmosphere and soon finds herself part of it. Badki hides her secret from Chutki who is eventually successful in completing her education. Chutki makes her way in the world and falls in love with Vivaan (Kunal Kapoor). Badki finds love in Rohan (Abhishek Bachchan) but runs away from him thinking that it is not in her destiny. The sisters then face...

Dhamaal(Hindi)

The journey of the four idiots- Roy (Ritesh Deshmukh), Aditya Shrivastav (Arshad Warsi), Adi's brother Manav Shrivastav(Javed Jaffrey) and Roy's friend Boman Contracter (Aashish Chaudhary). They are good-for-nothing youths who make a living out of petty con jobs. A chance meeting with a big criminal Boss(Prem Chopra) changes the course of their lives. He confesses to having hidden ten crores under a "big W". This is where the Rat Race begins to get to the booty first.

But close on their heels is Inspector Kabir Nayak (Sanjay Dutt), who has been trying to nail Boss for a decade. Thanks to the duffer Manav, who blurts out about the hidden treasure, he joins the race too.

They are joined by quite a few colourful characters in the course of their chase; veteran comedian Asrani, "PK Dubey" Vijay Raaz, an eccentric bus-jacker/dacoit among others.

When they finally get the money they decide to give it all up for a philanthrophic cause, and surprisingly....
