Wheeler (Scott) and Danny (Rudd) wouldn't necessarily be the first people a parent would turn to when seeking out a babysitter, in fact, they probably wouldn't even make the list in the first place. After slamming a few too many Minotaur energy drinks and crashing the company truck, however, the two loose-living pals narrowly avert jail when the court decides to let them become mentors to a group of young misfits. But how is the recently dumped Danny supposed to help bashful, role-playing geek Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) become a man when all he can offer the boy is bitter sarcasm, and is beer-chugging man-child Wheeler really the best choice to help foul-mouthed fifth-grader Ronnie (Bobb'e J. Thompson) develop more respect for his elders? Probably not, but they'll have to do their best anyway when the center's ex-con director (Jane Lynch) confronts them with a harsh ultimatum. One night during the filming of GARDEN PARTY, actor/musician Erik Scott Smith (“Sammy”) was hanging out, waiting for someone to light something. And to pass the time, he got to talking about some of the crazy things he has seen people do since he moved to LA from Tennessee. And Erik, who is a street musician, has seen quite a bit.

Alex Cendese, who plays Nathan, was there as well, and after hearing one of Erik’s stories, he said that’s just what attracted him to the script of GARDEN PARTY. Erik said, yeah, these are all “garden party stories”. If you’ve lived in LA for long, you have one of your own. And so, a “garden party story”, as they became known that night, is a story about the most awkward, or outrageous, or humbling moment that someone experiences in an effort to get ahead or just get by, while waiting for fame and fortune in LA. And the filmmakers began to collect “garden party stories” from various people. One actress was paid $500 to clean an apartment in her panties. One actor responded to a personal assistant ad, which led to nothing but trouble. Another actress ratted her boyfriend’s other girlfriend out to the tabloids. And so the stories go. At the bottom of these, and many others, is both the desperation of trying to get ahead in Hollywood and the humor that goes with it.

The filmmakers began to post them on the internet, in part to publicize the film and in part because these stories are so compelling in their own right. These “garden party stories” have become a cult sensation on YouTube, and attracted the attention a number of true YouTube superstars[citation needed], Mememolly, CommunityChannel, Paperlilies and Katers17, each who have done their own take on these stories.

To help his actors get into character the director would often take his pants off on set and say "now you don't have to imagine me nude, because I am nude and this feels so right".

Ah Long Pte Ltd 《老师嫁老大》 is a light-hearted black comedy about the triad world and the money-lending business. Instead of treating the subject of Ah Longs (money-lenders) seriously, the movie takes on a humorous and sarcastic treatment. It depicts how a young lady tries to restructure her money-lending triad into a professional and ‘loving' triad that stands against the use of violence after she takes over from her triad leader who has retired. Her various restructuring plans (which are no doubt very creative) bring about hilarious results.

Chen Jun (played by Richard Low) is the leader of Shao He Triad. The story opens with him deciding to “retire” from the triad business. Prior to his retirement, he elects Wang Li Hua (played by Fann Wong), a young but tough girl, as his successor.



Li Hua believes that changes need to be made to the current money lending system . Although Li Hua prioritizes the triad's success, she is very much against the idea of using violent means to collect debts. Therefore, with the help of some professional consultants, Li Hua and several of her subordinates (played by KK and Daniel Tan) start adopting a series of creative tactics to attract money lenders and practice hilarious methods to pressure the money-lenders to repay in a non-violent way. However, Li Hua's plan of “restructuring” her triad meets with obstacles and opposition from the majority of the conservative elders in both her own triad and rival triad.

At the brighter end of the world, Mr. Fang (played by Mark Lee) is a kind-hearted dance instructor who is slightly sissy in character. Fate has it that Mr. Fang runs into Li Hua on numerous occasions by chance. Since Li Hua's mother has been pressuring her to get married, Li Hua decides to force Mr. Fang to marry her. Surprisingly, Mr. Fang agrees to it, wanting to prove his masculinity. Though finding it hard to accept the fact that Li Hua is a triad head, Mr. Fang approves of her effort to minimize the use of violence. Subsequently, he offers to help Li Hua out by introducing creative ways to reduce violent methods of debt collection.

Sex & Death 101

Roderick Blank (Simon Baker, "The Devil Wears Prada") is a successful executive and ladies man, who has finally found 'the one,' and is getting married in a little over a week. The list throws Roderick into a dilemma, as it doesn't end with the name of his wife-to-be, but counts 72 more potential sex partners. Lucy Liu is in discussions to be the voice of Master Viper, another of Po's teachers, who can be coy and feminine when she needs to be, but can then uncoil the lethal kung fu warrior within.
